Without
doubt, one of the greatest concerns among today's athletes and coaches
in all sports is how to improve Speed and Power.
We believe that speed and quickness are skills that can be taught and not just
something you were born with. By using a number of specialised acceleration training
techniques and Strength & Conditioning protocols, which stimulate both the
muscular and the nervous system, we help athletes of all sports improve explosive
reaction, speed, agility and power.

The Sport Dimensions Centre – is a unique Performance & Rehabilitation training
facility designed to improve an athlete’s Speed, we work with youngsters
from the age of 9, elite sprinters, middle and long distance runners,
Professional Football, Rugby, Basketball players as well as athletes
from a variety of other multidirectional sports like Hockey, Cricket,
Lacrosse, etc. We have a special Speed Development programme for recreational
athletes who want to improve their speed and conditioning for their sport.
Our unique training protocols are scientifically designed to maximize
your potential, significantly help improve speed, power, agility and
overall athletic performance.
In
today's fast-paced athletic world, participants need an edge over the
competition. The Acceleration Programme, the world's most successful
Speed and Acceleration programme, allows athletes, from developing youngsters
to elite athletes to obtain that competitive edge ~ SPEED !
Training Programmes:
RUNNING
Completing the running programme on the super treadmill, helps athletes
achieve increased maximum sprint speed, anaerobic endurance, improved
sprinting biomechanics, increased aerobic base for long distance runners,
increased body balance, improved body composition and awareness. All
of which contribute towards speed, endurance and overall athletic success.
The Super Treadmill has a top speed of 30 mph and an incline of 40%.
By adjusting the interval time, speed and incline, the two main components
associated with running faster, stride length and stride frequency, are
developed.
STRENGTH & POWER
Our training programmes are designed to make you stronger and more powerful.
They are tailored to every individual based on their body structure,
sport, ability and age. We utilise techniques which have been proven
to increase functional strength and power for both performance and rehabilitation.
Sport Specific Speed
This training protocol follows a systematic progression of exercises that progress
from basic balance and movement skills, through to advanced running, sprinting,
jumping and multi-directional skills. We currently work with a number of football,
rugby and basketball teams throughout the season, coaching the players and the
coaches in these techniques.
FOOTBALL
SPEED
Football Speed is a Skill and just like any other skill
it can be taught, it can be developed, and it can be improved through
a systematic and progressive training approach. There are four elements
of multidirectional speed:
- Quickness
- Active Speed
- Reactive Speed
- Complex Speed
The Football Speed Training programme develops Quickness and Explosiveness,
quick feet, good coordination, and the ability to rapidly change direction.
We improve your Reactive and Active Speed, your footwork and how to accelerate
and decelerate instantaneously to get away from your opponent and get to
the ball first! This Speed training methodology has been tried, tested
and proven at all levels of the game.
PLYOMETRICS & FOOTWORK
The Plyometric programme is designed to help you improve your Power,
Quickness, coordination, stability, balance and awareness of your body
through multidirectional drills and jumping protocols.
SPORT
SPECIFIC TRAINING
Every Sport is different and we have developed specific training protocols
for developing Speed, Acceleration and Quickness programmes for Sprinters,
Middle and long distance runners, Footballers, Rugby Players and other
multi-directional sports. The training Programmes are age specific, so
youngsters would not be training at the same intensity as adults, and
ability and fitness specific, so based on fitness and level
MAINTENANCE & REHABILITATION
The
maintenance programme allows the athlete who has completed any of our
training programmes the ability to maintain the speed and conditioning
they have already achieved. In addition the medically based protocols
are ideal for individuals who are recovering from injury or surgery to
regain their speed, strength and power.
