Improving Your Running Technique

Most of us love to run and of course it's the most natural thing in the world to do. After we learn to walk comfortably as toddlers, just watch us go, any opportunity or open space and we break into a run. When we go to school we are always competing with each other to see who is the fastest. When we get involved in sports at whatever level, developing our running and sprinting become an absolute must to be able to compete adequately.

Running is the most common form of exercise and forms the foundation of most multidirectional ball sports, it provides of most of the exciting events at the Olympics, from the 100m to the marathon. Millions of people everyday use running to keep fit, to reduce the stresses of everyday life and to help them to achieve their sporting ambitions.
Irrespective of the level you run, whether you are a recreational runner who runs to keep fit, a serious amateur who likes to participate in races, or an elite athlete, who competes at the highest level you can always improve your running and sprinting technique.

Running well and running fast is a skill and not something you were born with and just like any other skill it can be taught.
Learn to run faster, easier and prevent injury.

Sport Dimensions has developed a unique methodology for teaching the correct and most efficient running technique to athletes of all levels. The application of Biomechanical, Gait and Movement Analysis and video documentation helps us to identify any weaknesses and the underlying causes for abnormalities in running, walking, sprinting and motor control. The results help us to develop individualised, technique, pre-hab and performance programmes for footballers, rugby players, tri-athletes, marathon runners and sprinters.

We teach the techniques, training methodologies and speed skill drills for developing motor mechanics and functional movement that can enable athletes to become faster, more coordinated and more powerful. The primary objective of motor learning is to train the Movement rather than the Muscle, it's the movement that determines the function of the muscle, not the opposite.
We improve the biomechanical movements for athletes of all sports and all ages, by teaching the body and the mind the correct motor patterns and creating/developing Motor Engrams, which are permanent maps formed after repeating a movement or skill many times. Stimulating the neuromuscular system to recruit and contract motor units simultaneously and by increasing the strength of the contraction.

Using the Frappier Acceleration® Sports Training programme, we strengthen specific muscles that deliver quick forward, lateral and backward motion. Athletes will maintain sprint velocity longer as their body recovers more efficiently from the acids and enzymes released during quick, intense efforts.

Equally important are lasting, beneficial changes that will make your neuromuscular system more efficient in a competitive event. Specific nerves will be conditioned to activate fast and forceful muscle response.

Years of research and development, which continues today, have resulted in several highly specialized, patented training tools and supervised training protocols. John Frappier's scientifically designed programs have two objectives: to make the athlete as efficient as possible and to find a balance between different muscles.

RUNNING Programme
Completing the running programme, helps athletes achieve increased maximum sprint speed, anaerobic endurance, improved sprinting biomechanics, increased aerobic base for long distance runners, increased body balance, improved body composition and awareness. All of which contribute towards speed, endurance and overall athletic success. We effect the two main components associated with running faster, stride length and stride frequency.
